Jack is a poor boy who goes to the market to sell his horse/cow/dog/whatever animal he happens to own, but instead of money, trades the animal for some magic beans (sounds legit). We all know the traditional tale of Jack and The Beanstalk. I’d like to believe Hollywood learned it’s lesson with Battleship and that you can’t just throw a ton of money at a movie and expect good results. But when I heard this movie had an estimated $195,000,000 budget I decided I better check it out. I understand movies like these have an audience, but I doubt it’s large enough to make good money on. Gritty fairy tale reboots seem to be what Hollywood loves right now, in some strange attempt to make tons of money. When I first saw the trailer for this movie I really didn’t think much of it.
